There will be another Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer  (P-EBT) program for CBSD families this coming summer. The P-EBT program is for students enrolled in a school district for the 2022-2023 school year.

Some frequently asked questions that come up with P-EBT distribution.

  • Are students that are homeschooled or attend cyber charter schools eligible? No, these students are not considered enrolled in a National School Lunch Program participating school.
  • Are students that attend a virtual program run by a district eligible? Only if the virtual program was established as a learning alternative due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Cyber charter schools are not eligible regardless of the reason a student is attending the school. Also, pre-existing virtual academies run by districts are not eligible. However, ALL students should be reported.

How do families receive a P-EBT card?

  • The last issued P-EBT card is where the benefit funds of $120.00 will be loaded.  If a family has lost or misplaced the card, they will need to contact the Department of Human Services (DHS) Support Center for a new card.  New cards will arrive in a plain white envelope from the state of Texas.
  • Families will only receive a new P-EBT if the family does not have a current EBT Card or a previously issued P-EBT Card from past program distributions.
  • The Columbia Borough School District does not handle distributing or replacing EBT or P-EBT Cards.  CBSD Food Service Department is only tasked with gathering and submitting the information to DHS.
