District Features

The custodial and maintenance staff take great pride in our school district buildings and grounds. The goal of this department is to provide a clean and safe learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Regulations

Columbia Borough School District Asbestos Management Plan

As required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act inspections were completed and no asbestos-containing materials were found, in any of the district buildings. Our Asbestos-Containing Material Inspection Report is available for inspection by any interested individual.

Pest Management Statement

Columbia Borough School District has adopted the provision of Act 35/36 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Integrated Pest Management. Under the provision of the plan, non-chemical pest management treatment will be implemented whenever practical. Advance notification of pesticide treatment will be posted prior to all applications. A completed copy of the plan is available for review (by appointment) by contacting the District Maintenance Department. Parents or guardians of student may also request individual notifications prior to pesticide use within the school district by contacting the District Maintenance Department at (717) 684-2283 ext. 1109.

Annual Water Test For Lead

Federal and state regulations require Columbia Borough School District and all school district to conduct annual safe drinking water lead tests.  This needs to be done even if all lead pipes have been removed from the premises.  We do these tests every year and we randomly pick where we take the samples from so, they are never from the same source every year.
